Boys to help Britney clean up her image
Pop Queen Britney Spears is hoping to cash in on Westlife's clean-cut image by performing a duet with the wholesome crooners.
The toxic singer is desperate to reform her image and has approached Louis Walsh about a possible collaboration. Her tour manager Richard Channer held secret talks with Walsh at the exclusive Dorchester Hotel in London on Friday night.
And Britney confirmed the detail when she met the music mogul at the X factor studios yesterday afternoon.
A source close to the group said "Britney is one of the biggest stars in the world but she is going through an image crisis. Westlife have spent 10 years at the top and has managed to keep their noses clean throughout. Right now Britney could do with a bit of that rubbing of on her. She sent Richard first to meet Louis to test the water."
The source added: "When she came to the studio she sent a message to Louis about a possible collaboration. Louis said yes straight away but only when the band come back from their one year break."
Walsh confirmed to Star Sunday that the meeting took place. He said "I have known her manager for a number of years and I met with him in the Dorchester. All I can say is she is a fan of the guys, and who knows what will happen in the future."
But a Westlife insider revealed that the boys have already to a joint performance with Britney. Mark Feehily is a huge fan of Britney Spears and jumped at the chance - they all did.
The source said it is very early stages yet, but it would be a great comeback track for them.
The proposed collaboration would not be the first high profile duet Westlife have performed. The group scored hits with Against All Odds which they performed with Diva Maria Carey and When You Tell Me That You Love Me with Diana Ross.
In an MTV Documentary Britney For the Record, due to air in USA tomarrow, Britney likens herself to a prisoner and regards herself as an old fart.
In the documentary she decalares "I want my life back, I want to be able to drive my car, I want to be able to live in my house by myself. I want to say who's going to be my security guard."

No place for McFadden
WESTLIFE star MARK FEEHILY has slammed the door on BRIAN McFADDEN ever rejoining the band.
Mark, 28, claims there is "no place" for the singer in the group anymore and that the lads have moved beyond KERRY KATONA's ex.
Feehily told me at Mahiki's: "We're really happy with where the band is these days and when it comes down to it, he's not going to be in the band again.
"We really don't want to go down the same route as Take That in trying to woo ROBBIE back to their band - and then the whole 'will he or won't he' saga.
"I just don't think there's a place for Brian anymore."
Openly gay Mark hasn't seen eye-to-eye with McFadden after he made a number of disparaging homophobic remarks on a radio station in Australia.
Brian said at the time: "Saying pink is a form of red is the same as saying homosexual is a form of male... In the old days there was no such thing as gay.
"Modern day, if you are not gay, a man should not be wearing pink.
"Unless of course you're in the Americas Cup and you're one of these pansies who walk around with Gant t-shirts with your collars up, and you wear pink and you wear white trousers with those dirty brown slip-on shoes.
"Then you're just an idiot."

Louis 'mightn't have picked' gay Gately
X-factor judge and pop supremo Louis Walsh has said that if he knew Boyzone's Stephen Gately was gay at the time of picking the five members for Boyzone he would have thought twice about choosing the singer.
The outspoken music mogul said his reservations about including a gay member in the band was due to the fact that "it wasn't cool then to have a gay guy in the band".
Walsh made the admission in an interview with the Irish Times in which he said he had no idea Stephen Gately was gay when he auditioned for Boyzone -- and only discovered the truth two months after the band's formation.
"I had no idea, on my mother's life," he said. "He was absolutely paranoid about it coming out. I remember I put him sitting on Ruby Wax's knees and married him off to Mandy Smith. In the end, he was forced out by The Sun."
The pop manager also explained how he didn't know Westlife's Mark Feehily was gay when he hand-picked him for his subsequent boy group.
"I didn't know about Mark either. Even his best friends in Sligo didn't know. When he said he liked Mariah Carey and Eurovision, alarm bells went off," he quipped. "But I didn't say anything."
The Mayo-born music boss made the admission as he voiced his views on unfair prejudice saying: "I think people are racist and homophobic. They just pretend they're not. It's the way we're brought up."
His comments come in the same week that Boyzone became the first boyband to feature a gay couple in their video.
As part of the music video for their new single Better, singer Stephen Gately pairs up with a male actor for the hands on scenes. Although the other Boyzone members teamed up with girls, Stephen wanted to move things forward.
Speaking about the scenes he said: "For me, it's just me being me and I don't think there should be a real big issue about the whole thing anyway."

BBC U-turn as Biz saves TOTP
JUST call it my early Christmas present.
Yesterday I won my battle with BBC scrooges when they performed a dramatic U-turn and reinstated the Christmas Top Of The Pops.
I launched my Don’t Kill Off The Pops campaign last month and was joined by stars of Christmas past and present after TV chiefs announced the decision.
Yesterday we were all celebrating as BBC1 announced FEARNE COTTON and REGGIE YATES will host special festive shows on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.
STATUS QUO legend FRANCIS ROSSI, whose band are releasing festive single It’s Christmas Time, said: “I’m delighted. Well done The Sun for applying the thumbscrews.”
LEON JACKSON, No1 last Crimbo with When You Believe, said: “I’m made up. I had a sneaky feeling Bizarre’s campaign would kick-start some action.
“I now know what I’ll be watching on Christmas afternoon.”
And MARK FEEHILY of WESTLIFE, who had a Christmas No1 in 1999, said: “It’s fantastic for festive telly and fantastic for the pop industry. Well done Bizarre.”
LEMAR, who got the Prime Minister on board when he met him at Downing Street, said: “It’s great that loads of celebs and GORDON BROWN backed the campaign.”
SIMON COWELL, who offered to broadcast the show if the BBC failed to stage it, welcomed the decision.
He said: “I’m thrilled the show is coming back. This year has been a really great one for music.”
Meanwhile, JULES DE MARTINO of THE TING TINGS told me: “Top Of The Pops is not just for Christmas. Having to wait for your favourite track, vid or live screen appearance on a dedicated music show keeps it magical before it’s digitised for the casual online world.”
Thanks Jules.
